Qualifications

Andrae is both a lawyer and a computer programmer with over 10 years of technical and legal experience. In addition to pursuing graduate studies in both law and cybersecurity, Andrae has over 5 years’ hands-on experience monitoring regulatory compliance and conducting IT risk assessments and security audits. Leveraging his technical and legal backgrounds allowed him to develop a practical understanding of data protection and privacy issues. Andrae is passionate about those areas where law and technology converge and he continues to assist clients with handling the technical and legal ramifications that flow from cybersecurity incidents.

Andrae also assists clients with immigration law matters. As an immigrant himself, he understands the challenges of moving to a new country and works closely with individuals and their families to navigate Canada's complex immigration system.

Community Involvement

Andrae participated in the Pro Bono Students Canada Family Law Project and gained hands-on experience in navigating client interactions, interpreting those clients’ needs and translating them into the legal documents necessary to present their motions in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. He assisted clients with sensitive family law matters including access, custody, child support and the drafting motions for urgent ex-parte non-removal and protection court orders.

Andrae is committed to learning and as a contributing editor, he conducts extensive legal research and prepares evidence-based articles on the areas of cybersecurity, intellectual property, technology law, privacy and related legal issues.
